Strongduct as the name suggests is a robust ducting system. It is not dissimilar to other air ducting systems; it transports air from A to B. The difference being, that when air arrives at point B it has used less energy to get it there; and through the improved performance and materials used it reduces the carbon footprint of the buildings ventilation system. To achieve such a feat, the Strongduct team merged two industries together to create a more streamlined approach to external ducting. By essentially reversing the make-up of a duct to incorporate the insulation on the inside, Strongduct protects the insulation within a galvanised steel shell. This gives the insulation a water tight barrier unparalleled by any other product on the market, it’s robust enough to handle knocks from other trades, no vermin can penetrate a steel shell either. With the use of the phenolic foam duct board the internal insulation forms its own duct respectively which boasts a 100% insulated vapour seal. The risk of cold bridging is eliminated by use of a thermal break around the flange.
